Beverly’s Story: From Lost to Purposeful – Rediscovering My Spark

“You know how sometimes life nudges you—gently at first—and then, when you don’t listen, it shoves you right off the cliff? That’s exactly how my journey as an entrepreneur began.

I didn’t set out to start a business. I was an accidental entrepreneur. My husband’s military career meant we moved often, and I needed a career as mobile as his. So, I became a freelancer. At first, I thought, ‘This is perfect. I’ll do what I love, be my own boss, and have all this freedom.’

Except… I wasn’t free.

In the beginning, I said yes to everything. If someone needed a website? Yes. Social media management? Yes. Random projects I had to Google to figure out how to do? Yes. My motto was, ‘If they’ll pay me, I’ll do it.’ I worked all hours, saying yes to clients who drained me and projects that didn’t inspire me.

I thought I was building a business, but really, I was just surviving.

On the outside, it looked like I had it all together. My business was growing, referrals were rolling in, and I was busy. Isn’t that what success is supposed to look like? But on the inside, I was falling apart.

I remember one night vividly. It was midnight. I was sitting at my desk, finishing a project for a client who had been so demanding that I hadn’t eaten dinner yet. My to-do list felt endless, and my heart just sank. I thought, ‘How did I get here? Is this what success is supposed to feel like?’

That moment cracked something open inside me. I realized I wasn’t building my dream—I was building everyone else’s.

And let me tell you, that realization was both terrifying and freeing. I had no idea what kind of business I wanted, but I knew it wasn’t this.

So, I started asking myself some big, scary questions:

  • Who do I really want to serve?
  • What kind of work lights me up?
  • If I could create any business, what would it look like?

The answers didn’t come all at once, but one thing became clear: I wanted to work with purpose-driven entrepreneurs. People who, like me, were driven by passion and a desire to make an impact. I wanted to help them find clarity in their brands so they could focus on the work that truly mattered.

But before I could guide anyone else, I had to find clarity for myself.

I let go of the clients and projects that didn’t align with my vision. That was hard. It felt like cutting ties with stability, but I knew I couldn’t keep saying yes to everything. Piece by piece, I rebuilt my business with intention.

And something incredible happened.

When I got clear about who I was and who I wanted to serve, my business transformed. I started working with wellness coaches, creative entrepreneurs, and healers—people whose missions inspired me. These weren’t just clients; they were people I believed in.

And here’s the best part: I wasn’t just showing up for my clients—I was showing up for myself. I was finally building a business that aligned with my values and made me excited to get out of bed in the morning. I want to help guide to the same place, to help you see your possibilities and awaken your brand magic to boost your confidence and magnify the impact you have on the world!
